Official prisoner stationery envelope from concantraion camp Dachau (14 Jan 1942) to Olešnice, Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia.
The sender was Josef Pašek (born July 27, 1889), Prisoner Number 28812, Located in Block 28, Room 1 (The "Priest Block" for ordained clergy).

The left side of the envelope contains seven printed rules dictating prisoner correspondence. It restricts mail to two letters or cards per month, limits length to 15 lines, and bans packages.
A black-violet ink stamp overlays the text reading "Postzensurstelle K. L. Dachau / Geprüft" (Post Censorship Office Dachau / Approved).

Josef Pašek was a Czech Catholic priest arrested by the Gestapo in 1941. This envelope represents a vital proof-of-life sent to his family during his internment in the camp's clergy barracks. In May 1942, he was transferred on a Nazi "invalid transport" to the Hartheim Euthanasia Centre and murdered in the gas chambers. The camp bureaucracy later falsified his official date of death as July 26, 1942, to conceal the systematic killing program.
