Also on the front of the envelope, handwritten mark "11" is the amount of unpaid next to the Prussian accountancy mark 'P.38.' ('P.' means PRUSSIA), used on Prussian transit mail from Poland and Russia, with destination France (the uniform rate was 11 decimes (1.1 francs).

The letter transited the German Empire, transit stamp at the French border, Valenciennes, March 10. Then an unknown transit point in France on March 11 (illegible red stamp). The letter arrived in Bordeaux on March 13, 1852.

The letter arrived in Bordeaux on 8 December 1852. PD (French Post) stamp on the front of the envelope - Paye jusqu a la destination, which means "paid to destination"

1825 international stamp cover, from Riga (now Latvia), to London, England (via Amsterdam, Netherlands, as stated in the address). The front is stamped "Franco," meaning shipping paid. Transit stamp 14 Aug Memel, Germany. Arrived in London 25 Aug 1825 on a private vessel.

1915 (5 May) censored international cover. From St. Petersburg to Zurzach (Switzerland). The cover is franked with a Semi-postal 1k (2k) and 7k (8k) and a 10k stamp, with a St. Petersburg postmark. On the back of the envelope is a purple stamp removed from a mailbox. The envelope was (resealed) after inspection and sealed with a red wax seal with a Russian Imperial Eagle and the text "Petrograd Military Censorship." The letter arrived in Zurzach on June 5, 1915.

The flap of the envelope is sealed with a purple oval seal of the Danish consulate. The letter was sent to Petrograd for censorship. On the back of the envelope is a purple rectangular stamp with the text "Opened by military censorship, Petrograd. Military censor No. 48."
