1905 (5 Jan) Red band cover originating at the Chinese Post Office at Ku Lun, with Chinese franking partially removed, forwarded by the Russian Post Office, with 7x3k red paying 21k, tied by Urga cds, with Kalgan arrival in red. During this period there was intense competition for business between the Chinese and Russian Post Offices. In this case, the cover was intercepted by the Russians, who tore off the Chinese franking and sent it through their post to Kalgan, cover faults, rare Sold on Cherrystone for $1,200 (+Buyer's premium)
