1944 (8 Feb) registered cover, From Windau (Kurland) (now Ventspils, Latvia) to Cologne, Germany. The letter is franked with a 1pf, 3pf, 4pf, 8pf, 10pf, 16pf (overprinted Ostland on Deutsches Reich stamps, with a Windau postmark. The letter arrived in Cologne on 20 February 1944. Red lettering at the top of the envelope reads "Via German service post Ostland."
