France & Colonies / Covers & Postcards

Haute Savois was a major center of the French Resistance movement. St. Julien en Genevois, located on the Swiss border, was only seven miles from Geneva, but the German censors needed an indeterminate amount of time to hold the cover for examination; therefore a total transit of ten days.

Extremely rare surviving example of a remittance cover from Vichy, which ceased to exist in August 1944, following the Allied invasions of France.
