Original Czechoslovak military leave permit (Perm. Dovolení) from the early 20th century.

Issued to a sapper (engineer soldier) of the 11th Division, 3rd independent technical unit. The document is handwritten and signed, with an official military stamp featuring the Czechoslovak lion emblem.

Grants permission to remain outside the unit until evening (2 o’clock).

The USS President Grant was authorized to return home the Czech legions fighting in Siberia. In 1920 it was used to transport the Czech troops from Vladivostok to Trieste.
