1852 folded letter from Hamburg (August 22nd, 1852) to Bordeaux with red border crossing transit postmark Aug. 25th, transit postmark from Paris ans arrival Postmark from Bordeaux Aug. 26th on reverse.

It is addressed to Messrs. Schröder & Co., a prominent merchant and wine trading house in Bordeaux that was very active during this era.


The "P.D." markings (short for Payé jusqu'à Destination) indicate that the sender paid the full postage upfront, ensuring it would reach the recipient without further charges.
