1920 (25 Aug) GEORGIA letter sent via British consular mail, British occupation of Batum, Georgia. From Batum to Constantinople. The letter is franked with eight 40k stamps (two are probably still lost).

Russia & Soviet Union / Civil War

There is no cancellation of the place of origin, but the stamps bear the seal of the British Trading Corporation of the Batum branch. On the front of the envelope in the upper right corner is a British military cancellation mark, probably a ship. Also on the front is the cancellation mark of the British Consulate in Batum. The stamps, including those torn off, fall under the simple letter rate of 4 rubles. The postmark of the place of receipt is missing.
