This is an official, pre-printed prisoner mail envelope (Häftlingspost) from the Ravensbrück women's concentration camp in Fürstenberg, Germany, sent during World War II, postmarked on November 17, 1944 to Prague
It features a red 12-pfennig German Reich stamp with Adolf Hitler's portrait and a purple censorship stamp reading "Zensiert / F. K. L. Ravensbrück" (Censored / Women's Concentration Camp Ravensbrück).
The left side displays strict camp rules (Auszug aus der Lagerordnung) limiting prisoners to one letter/card per month, exactly 2 pages of 15 lines, and forbidding any attached photos.

The Prisoner Marie Hieková (born 1901) was an employee of the National Museum in Prague and a member of the prominent anti-Nazi resistance group Obrana národa ("Defense of the Nation"). She served as an underground courier, hid individuals hunted by the Gestapo, and assisted a Yugoslavian intelligence link to the Czechoslovak government-in-exile. Following her arrest, she was deported to Ravensbrück in the spring/summer of 1943, where she was assigned Prisoner Number 20531.

In a common practice among political prisoners to bypass strict Nazi censorship and communication bans, Marie addressed the envelope to her own home address in Prague-Dejvice (Strömsagasse 33, Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia).
This allowed her family, relatives, or trusted underground contacts remaining at her home to receive the mail and read her life signs or hidden messages.

This envelope stands as a direct, physical testament to the female Czech resistance network and the survival struggle inside the Nazi concentration camp system.
