1929 (26 July) Cover of catapult mail from New York (USA) to Basel (Switzerland) on the ship "Bremen". Franked with a 5c and a 15c airmail stamp (USA), canceled by the New York postmark.

August 2, 1929 sent by catapult mail to Bremerhaven, red rectangular overprint of "Katapultflug D.BREMEN». Transit postmark and destinations are illegible on the reverse side. Extremely rare. The cover bears the autograph of Baron Joachim von Studnitz, the catapult mail pilot on board the liner "Bremen." Joachim von Studnitz made the first historic flight from the "Bremen" on July 22, 1929, to New York. The first catapult mail was sent from the "Bremen" to Germany (to Bremerhaven)
