Europa" of the post office of the ship"Europa"

Germany / Weimar Republic (1919-1932)

It was accepted on the ship on June 22 and paid at the rate of 25pf for an international letter and an additional 50pf for a catapult flight + 5 cent US air stamp. But sending by catapult mail did not take place, the cached "Kein Katapultflug von D. Europa nach New York", which means "Flight with a catapult from D. Europa to New York did not take place" is black. In all likelihood, the sender picked up the letter from the post office! Resent on another liner flight, postmark of the post office of the liner "Europa" on September 10, 1930, on the front side. On September 15, 1930, it was sent by catapult mail to New York, the overprint in red on the front side "Mit Katapultflug", which means "with catapult flight". And the postmark Deutscher Katapultflug (German catapult flight) D. "Europa" - New York. On September 15, 1930, the first catapult mail flight from the ship Europa to New York took place. The plane took off at 6:00 AM, 305 km from New York, and splashed down in the harbor at 8:55 AM. It arrived in New York on September 15, 1930. The envelope actually passed through the mail. UNIQUE is the combination of an inherently rare "predecessor of catapult mail" postmarked "Catapult flight from D. Europa to New York did not take place" and the first catapult mail delivery from the liner Europa to New York on September 15, 1930
