1930 (16 Apr) Cover catapult mail from the ship "Europa" in Somerville (USA) franked 5pf, 30pf and 40pf (Germany) cancelled with a special postmark of the ship's service "Deutsch-Amerikanische Bremen-New York Norddeutscher Lloyd D. Europa"

Germany / Weimar Republic (1919-1932)

It was accepted on the ship on 16 April 1930 and paid at the rate of 25pf for an international letter and an additional 50pf for a catapult flight. But sending by catapult mail did not take place, the postmark "Kein Katapultflug von D. Europa, Bremen- New York", which means "Flight with a catapult from D. Europa, Bremen- New York did not take" is black. The postmark of the place of receipt is missing. Extremely rare, "predecessor of catapult mail" postmarked "Catapult flight from D. Europa did not take"
