1930 (15 Mar) Cover catapult mail from Karlsruhe (Germany) to Irvington (USA) franked with the 25pf and 50pf stamps were canceled by the Karlsruhe postmark. On March 19, 1930 were canceled with a special postmark of the ship's service "Deutsch-Amerikanische Bremen-New York Norddeutscher Lloyd D. Europa " of the post office of the ship "Europa"

The catapult mail flight failed, and the black cached read "Kein Katapultflug von D. Europa nach New York," meaning "Catapult flight from D. Europa to New York failed." The back of the envelope bears the postmark "foreign section m. d. g. p. o." The postmark of the receiving location is missing. From March to September 1930, the "Europa" made its first nine transatlantic voyages without catapult mail
